University of Limpopo (UL)

Created in 2005 through the merger of the University of the North (UNIN, founded 1959) and Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA). In 2015, the MEDUNSA campus became the separate Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. UL’s main campus is in Mankweng, outside Polokwane, and focuses on serving rural communities in Limpopo province.
