Nelson Mandela University (NMU)

Established in 2005 through the merger of the University of Port Elizabeth (founded 1964), Port Elizabeth Technikon, and Vista University’s Port Elizabeth campus. Initially named Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, it was renamed Nelson Mandela University in 2017. Located in Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha), it emphasizes environmental and sustainability studies.
